School Liaison – BBBS is seeking a person who can interface with the 4 schools we provide our school based program through. Effectively the program is administered at and on the school property after school ends, and once per week. This person would work with school administrators and teachers at the schools (Escalante, Riverview, Needham, and Park Elementary) to promote our service to at risk children. The teachers, counselors, and administrators recommend kids to our program so it’s important to develop and maintain a relationship with them. Possible mentor recruits would participate in a group outing where they get to interact with kids and staff in an informal outdoor sports or recreation activity such as boating, biking, skiing, kickball, climbing, hiking fishing and many more. The purpose is to get those who might be interested in mentoring a child a glimpse of the fun and reward of mentoring. This is a twice per month activity and BBBS is looking for volunteers to help develop the program, assemble the needed support and resources then bring Sports Buddies live to the community.
